Kelsey Allen

Kelsey Allen has nearly a decade of experience practicing exclusively immigration law, and is experienced representing clients start to finish with all aspects of family-based immigration, humanitarian-based immigration, as well as detained and non-detained removal defense matters. She represents individuals in cases before U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services and U.S. consulates abroad pursuing family-based petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, naturalization, asylum, U visas, VAWA, DACA, benefits for military members and their relatives, and other humanitarian cases.

Kelsey has extensive experience representing individuals in removal proceedings before immigration courts nationwide, including asylum, Cancellation of Removal (42A, 42B and Special Rule), waivers, as well as complex cases involving alleged fraud, voting and criminal convictions. Kelsey represents clients in appellate matters involving the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Administrative Appeals Office as well as federal litigation matters challenging delay, unlawful detention and abuse of discretion on immigration-related cases. Kelsey frequently mentors other attorneys on removal defense cases, works with criminal defense (and prosecution) attorneys on understanding the impacts of certain crimes for noncitizens and often speaks on immigration topics for attorneys.

Kelsey is fluent in Spanish and spent time studying in Mexico, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She loves experiencing other cultures and traveling whenever possible. In law school, Kelsey gained experience on both sides of immigration law. She was as Student Attorney in the  Immigration Court Practice Group clinic, working with individuals in removal proceedings and later, had an  externship with the Department of Homeland Security where she gained invaluable experience seeing cases from an enforcement perspective. Following graduation, Kelsey has exclusively worked as an immigration attorney and developed a reputation for being skilled at highly complex cases and routinely finding creative solutions.

Kelsey approaches cases with honesty, compassion and a desire to set her cases apart. Kelsey is based physically in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but works with clients and attorneys throughout the United States. She has represented individuals before immigration courts and/or USCIS in more than 20 states.
